A few things about my path.
I grew up in Ghana and came to the United States as a young adult. I later served in the U.S. Air Force and completed my service with an honorable discharge.
Nursing came next. I worked in intensive care before moving into inpatient psychiatry and becoming a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
Those settings taught me to pay attention to more than the presenting symptom: the medical history, the pressures at home, the experience of being unwell, and the person trying to make sense of it all.
What working with me is like.
Take a look inside the first evaluation →
The first evaluation is an hour. I’ll ask questions, but I also want to hear what you think is happening and what you hope will change. We review your history and treatment options, including what medication might and might not help with.
Follow-ups are usually 30 minutes. We use symptom measures alongside the things that matter in your day-to-day life. A better score is useful; so is being able to sleep, concentrate at work, or enjoy time with people you care about.
I’m a psychiatric nurse practitioner, not a physician. My work here is outpatient psychiatric evaluation and medication management. If another type of care is needed, I’ll discuss that with you.
Veteran experience. A broad adult practice.
My military background is one part of what I bring. Veterans and military-affiliated adults are welcome, alongside adults whose experiences are very different from mine. You don’t need to share my background to be understood here.
I’m interested in your experience, not in making it fit a story I already know.
